From 1989, I continue to study the teaching and assessment of mathematical modelling. Especially, my central research question is "What is the thinking to promote matheamatical modelling? How can teacher foster the thinking?" From 2000, I began to study the lesson study and teacher education.

Mathematical Modelling
Mathematical modelling includes a varity of ideas that are important to think deeply. It is important for teacher to teach such ideas to students in order to let students to think creatively and critically. Th following reseach questions are investigated. "What kind of material is appropriate?" "How can teacher foster such ideas? How can teacher assess students' thinking?"
